School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school event may include:
- school orientation days
- sports carnivals
- open day and school tours
- Harmony Week and Book Week events
- excursions and incursions
- performances, concerts or school productions
- fundraising, charity and community events
- award assemblies
- graduation and other celebrations.

First day of 2026 school year
Date: Monday 2 February 2026
Time: Students can arrive from 8:30am ready for the new school year. 2026 classes will be formed in a few days when numbers have been confirmed.
2026 DPS swimming carnival for registered competitors
Date: Wednesday 18 February 2026
Location: Parramatta Aquatic Centre
Time: Time: Leaving school at 9:00am and returning before 3:00pm
Transport: All students will be travelling to and from the pool by bus
Cost: The cost will be $21 which includes the bus fare and entry into the pool
2026 Zone swimming carnival
Date: Wednesday, 4th March 2026
Location: Merrylands Swim Centre
2026 Term 1 P&C meeting
Date: Tuesday 3 March 2026
Time: 6pm in the DPS staff room or online via Teams.
School Photo Day
Date: Monday, 4th May 2026
Stage 3 3-day Canberra excursion
Dates: Wednesday, 4th Nov - Friday 6th Nov 2026
